North Central Ohio Avian Rescue
When looking for a rescue to take in your pet, you need to feel right with it. Don't jump to rash decisions. Remember the bird is always better off with you.
You might also check to see if they have a back up plan, for finding homes and also in case they have to give up doing rescue for any reason. We while not officially affiliated with any other group are on good terms with at least one and have on more than one occasion had them take a bird that we did not feel, at the time we had the knowledge to help.
Don't be afraid to ask for references. After all you are intrusting your friend to their care. Check with people that have surrendered a bird and to some that have adopted a bird. Ask for their Vet name and number
There are a lot of people out there that are running rescues that had really good intentions when they started but then somewhere along the line it all went terribly wrong and they have become hoarders (someone that takes in more animals than they can take care of and will still not let any of them go.)
